You may be wondering what we mean by tire protection. Well, tire protection covers anything that may help to protect you tires. This can cover a range of different things from liners, sealant, puncture resistant tires.
There is a wide range of puncture protection options that are available. In this section we'll cover some of the options that are available for you to keep your tires safe.
Tannus armour adds an awesome level of protection to your tires and rims. It eliminates 90% of all punctures from common flats. These all feature tannus's run flat technology that allow you to ride home even if you get a flat. This let's you ride without worry that you'll be left stranded on a ride.
We can add Tannus to pretty much any trike or quad that we sell here. They're a perfect option if you're looking to add quality protection to your tires and rims.
Mr.Tuffy Tire Liners are a biodegradable and reusable tire liner. These tire liners work hard to stop flats from glass, thorns, and other hazardous road materials.
Sealants are another great way to protect your tires from flats and punctures. We have two different sealants that we would like to recommend: Slime and Flat Attack. Slime is an environmentally safe, non hazardous, non flammable, sealant that remains active for 2 years. This sealant can be instaled through a schrader or removable presta core valve. This sealant seals punctures up to 1/8 inches. Flat Attack is the original green sealant. It does not plug the valve during install and does not leave an oily residue. It has a long shelf life and is safe for people, pets, and the environment.
Marathon Plus Tires have a thick protective liner that help to keep foreign objects from reaching your tube. Schwalbe has given all Marathon Plus tires a 7 out of 7 on their protectiveness scale. This is our most popular tire by far because it's affordable and they will outlast any tire out there. You'll be surprised at how smooth and quiet they roll.
Here are a few tips for protecting your tires for added longevity.
- Make sure that you store your tires properly and avoid having them exposed to direct sun light or having them outside for an extended amount of time.
- Make sure to check air pressure since tires can lose air over time. Be sure to inflate to the range on the side of the tire.
- Be sure to examine the tread of your tires for wear and tear.
